Description
John Hepworth had a long association with the radical newspaper The Nation Review, for many years writing the back page “Outsight” column in collaboration with cartoonist Michael Leunig.
A journalist, playwright and poet, he was also well known for his dedication to hospitality and bohemian ways, with and interest in everything except respectability. No surprise then, the wide ranging subject matter of his articles. As editor Morris Lurie puts it “a savoury pudding of the sharp and sweet of life…Hepworth everywhere, seeing everything, noting it down with that innocent candour that is his, and his alone”.
Delightfully illustrated by long time associate, comrade and friend Michael Leunig.
